Suki (Deceased)
Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (Tacoma, WA)
Suki was an Asian elephant held in solitary confinement at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma, WA. She was born in the wild in 1964 and captured when she was a year old. For the final years of her life, Suki was confined alone with no elephant companions, she suffered from the zoo’s lack of sufficient space and from being unable to engage in her natural behaviors.
Take action today
A future where no elephant has to endure the traumas of being torn from their families and natural habitats, bred against their will, and shipped from zoo to zoo is possible, and we need your help to make it a reality.
